I am pleased to congratulate the organizers on the outcome of the successful Biotechnology International Fair – BioAsia held between February 17th and 19th, 2014. Moreover, I take this opportunity to highlight the space for dialogue and networking promoted by such fair in order to seek innovation in the industrial sector through the convergence of the main stakeholders in the sector, which will allow the promotion of the value added products and technological development. In this framework, it is worth mentioning that this Ministry prioritizes international cooperation in the sector of biotechnology to provide joint solutions to the main challenges posed by the increase of population in the production of food, energy and health. Please accept, the assurances of my highest consideration.
I’d like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for the warm hospitality shown to Gangwon delegation visiting Hyderabad to discuss about the economic cooperation between Gangwon and Andhra Pradesh and to attend BioAsia 2013. The visit allowed an opportunity to reaffirm that both regions shared vision for economic development by promoting high-tech industry and concrete will for mutual cooperation. Moreover, a platform for future collaboration in Bio-Industry was established by signing MoU between APIIC and Gangwon Techno Park. Our entrepreneurs are also prospecting productive outcome from networking activities held in BioAsia 2013.
I would like to thank the organizers for the gracious hospitality which I enjoyed during my brief stay in Hyderabad. Indeed I had the opportunity to meet large number of people during the stimulating discussions. It has been a great experience to see what has been developed here and what is going on. We would be delighted to establish further collaborations with the organization. I enjoyed my participation at BioAsia very much. It has been very pleasant to meet many of the colleagues there and to enjoy the interesting program. I convey my gratitude and also my best wishes to the organizers.
I found BioAsia 2015 to be a very interesting experience. We are all satisfied being here because we got a very good response. We have lots of visitors and some business deals, so we are very happy. I think here in Hyderabad the industry is very active and I am very impressed about how Hyderabad is building the same.
BioAsia 2015 brought together a wide range of stakeholders and the programs were timely, relevant and substantive. I would like to congratulate you and your team for putting together a successful event. I look forward to our continued collaboration.
It was a pleasure to be a part of this conference. Healthcare is getting less invasive and more pervasive with the use of wearables/ multiple devices. There is a trend towards ubiquitous access to the healthcare systems.
Dr. Reddy’s is very happy to be the co-host of the event. The pharmaceutical industry that I represent has done great service to not only the country but to the world particularly in making drugs affordable. And I am happy to state that the API revolution began in Andhra Pradesh which has mushroomed ever since as a result of which India has become the leading exporter of APIs, leading supplier of generics to the world and is also helping other countries around the world in bringing down their healthcare costs. The pharmaceutical industry has been a shining example of success in the country and I am happy that events like BioAsia that bring together academicians, industry, regulators to debate on important topics, strengthen the industry overall, strengthen the city, strengthen the economy and in a long term the impact on the economy is tremendous and that is why we are very happy to have supported the event and thank you for giving us this opportunity.
I would like to thank the government of Andhra Pradesh and the organizers of BioAsia for bestowing the great honour of the Genome Valley Excellence Award on GSK for our leadership and progressive commitment to tropical disease. At GSK we are committed to tackling the root causes of disease and ill-health and to contributing to ensure healthier communities around the world. Neglected tropical diseases impact the lives of more than a billion people worldwide, and threaten the world’s most vulnerable populations and we are immensely proud to have received this award in recognition of our efforts against this public health challenge.
I think it is great that people from all over the world come to India to discuss issues that we share and are important for bringing better healthcare to people around the world. It was really a privilege for me to be a part of this event and a great opportunity to become familiar with what we need to do in India.
It was a good experience for me to attend the BioAsia 2014, I enjoyed it very much. Due to my time limit, I only attended a few sessions. I feel that the panel sessions were organized well, the hosts were quite good and effective.
GVK Biosciences has been a patron to BioAsia right from the beginning and has been sponsoring the event for several reasons, one is to encourage industry, science and government interaction and also we find a lot of value in interacting with various dignitaries that come here and conducting business discussions with them. We will continue to support BioAsia in the years to come in order to boost the ecosystem of innovation and interaction of various organizations. I appreciate all the efforts of the Government of Andhra Pradesh and FABA in bringing us all together. Congratulations to the organizers.
BioAsia over the years has been instrumental in showcasing the Lifesciences and R&D strengths of Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh to the world particularly the presence of Genome Valley – the largest industrial cluster in country. India is an excellent destination for Biotech/Biopharma industries particularly Hyderabad, which has a strong base of pharma and biotech, specially vaccines. Almost 70% of the vaccine production in India is supplied from Hyderabad and this explains the focus of BioAsia on elements like policy, strategy and markets.
This is the 12th edition of BioAsia and there has been a good participation from both academia and companies worldwide. As time progresses, we hope to see more and more international biotech and pharma companies coming in though.
Events like BioAsia will help us in accelerating the innovative solutions for India for “Make in India” movement gather momentum.
BioAsia Team’s proactive approach and prompt action made our participation at BioAsia effective and fruitful for the Norwegian Delegation. All companies have gone back with positive experiences and are looking forward to continue their engagement with India.
